A film based around a community, dedicated to collecting, documenting and sharing music, to learning and to telling its histories. They are called Melomanos and they love Salsa. Cali, Colombia is the only place in the world where people listen and celebrate also new, but mostly old music. Salsa is the heart of Cali and the Melomanos are its pulse. To be a Melomano is a symbol of someone who is cosmopolitan, with prestige and knowledge in the community. Through their love of music they have shaped the city’s cultural identity. It is known as ‘La Capital Mundial de la Salsa’ and it is the Melomanos who are responsible for that title.
